Treasure

In packing stuff up, I've uncovered some treasures.
This guy had been played with and I had to reattach the foot.  This was handstitched by my youngest brother.  He was maybe 11 or 12 at the time.  He made all of his siblings stuffed creatures.  He knew I loved cows, especially dairy cows.  Still love them.  I bet he doesn't know that I still have this, and it's moving with us!
This sculpture is missing an arm and foot and the head was detached.  It was made by one of my siblings.  I wonder if any of them remember because I'm drawing a blank...old age.  It's missing limbs so the practical me says 'toss it', but the emotional pack rat inside says 'aw, keep it'...agggh the internal battle that rages during moving is driving me crazy!

Boots

So adorable and cute, isn't she?  That must be why other children including her sisters (one sister in particular) like to pick her up and hug/squeeze her so much.
Right now she has a shoe thing and loves to put on other people's shoes.  She got these on all on her own.

Garden Goodness

Well, we won't miss the entire harvest of all the good stuff in our garden.  We've waited three years for a true harvest of our asparagus and this year we've been blessed with a bountiful 4 week harvest...and of course the girls turn their noses up at it since it's green.  Ok with me, since that means more for the adults!

Horns?

Funny girl is pretending she has horns or ears like a cat.
Her vocabulary is growing everyday, unfortunately it seems she is growing more stubborn everyday too.
As we are getting closer to our move, I'm trying to picture where all of the stuff in our current house is going to go in our new house.  Like the fantastic shoe storage thing hanging on the door that holds all our children's art supplies.  I love it because they can get their own stuff, it's right by the table so it's quick to clean up, and if I close the door you can't see it.

Well, we won't have a door close to the table in the new house, so I'm going to have to come up with a new system...any suggestions?

Birthday Girl

Hannah turned 7.  Since her actual birthday was on Sunday we had a day filled with Church and then returned home to have her dinner of choice...pizza and cherry pie.

At first she didn't think she was getting a gift, but look at that classy bike helmet!  It came with the promise of a new bike when we get to Texas.

The girls are getting excited about our move.  A new bike, walking distance to a pool and playground, what more could a child want?  Of course they have no idea how hot it's really going to be, and neither do we but we're preparing for the heat.

Roar

This is another project made for Earth week, which I should have posted weeks ago!
Hannah's monster made from recyclable stuff for Earth week.  Every time Sarah sees it she says 'Roar!'.
